I agree that with replaceable lenses STONgard is less necessary. However, I
wouldn't quantify it as a waste of memory. Especially if you pay the extra
$15 for their insurance coverage and register your STONgard purchase. They
will replace the *light* if the lens breaks while protected by STONgard.
Also, IME, STONgard tends to increase the chance of cracking when running
higher wattage bulbs. My 100q has had STONgard on for 2+ years without a
problem running 55/60w bulbs. My 4ktq cracked one STONgard protected lens
after 1.5 years, but because of the STONgard, I don't have a leakage problem
and haven't needed to replace the lens. I actually took a hard hit to one
of my 4ktq Cibies, such that it broke the light housing/mounting points.
But it only took a divot out of the STONgard, and the lens remained
intact... Not sure if that was a winning proposition however.
My .02 on the subject.

IMHO, Stongard is a waste of money (at least with the Bosch lights for turbo
cars), since replacement lenses are only about $25 from RPI or Metrix. Also,
numerous listers have reported lens cracking in the cold with Stongard.

I have to followup on getting some Stongard now. I wasn't going to
put them on the car without it, but just did it. I was a bit paranoid
on the freeway last night.
