93 90q Security System Acting Up

Has anyone had a problem with the security system on a 93?  I have a 93q as
do my in-laws.  Recently their security system has been on the blink.  The
system goes off and they can't start the car...  This is for no apparent
reason.  Yesterday he had to put the window down lock the car and open it
with the pull lock on the door before it would let him start it.  I think he
got water in a lock when it was washed and somthing is iced up.
