Hood shocks- type 44

Just FYI, I've been bitten by this twice now....

Those little circlips that you remove, they kind seem to 
be hinged so that they unclip and then just rotate out of
the way.  Dont' be fooled!  After you "rotate them out
of the way", remove them.  Pull the pin.  That is pull them
out of there all together.  I've struggled twice trying to
remove the strut with this circlip still in the hood strut end.
