I decided to "upgrade" my 82 coupe's brakes to the 85-on style (larger,
vented rotor, bigger pads) for two reasons - one, my neighbor joking
about how the rotors were too thin to mike when *new* and two, a hard
braking from about 85-90 to 20-30 on the interstate, *one* hard braking
that is, feeling like the brakes were sliding, would not grab enough. I
guess that's brake fade, eh?

I have a tough decision (or not) on the 90. pretty decent brakes stock,
though i suspect the pads on there on not very good. But I'm gonna get
wider better tires when my 15" rims are ready, and maybe more would be
better.

Have a set of rusty but working G60's here - which weigh a ton of
course, but also a set of old early 5kt calipers, which look like they
will fit, use the same pads as stock but a larger diameter rotor. The
caliper body, however, is aluminum. Lighter than stock.

I will be weighing the calipers (and rotors?) and posting pix as I try
to decide in the next month or two.
