I put this bulb in as a replacement when one of my old ones died.  It may be 
brighter.  Hard to tell.  It certainly isn't any dimmer.  It is also not 
colored.  The light is white.  There are no exotic gases in there - just the 
halogen.

There is no solution other than eurolights for the poor 5K DOT lights.  The 
DOT lights have a poor reflector.  Nothing is going to cure that.  Check the 
archives.  There's lots of discussion on this.
