Cruise w/automatic resolved

My cruise stopped working after my trans swap. Bentley revealed nothing...of
course my mechanic is a freakin' genius. After mentioning that lack of
cruise, and the *odd* feeling in the shifter, he put two and two together.
The cruise control brain gets a signal from the shifter position switch,
which was slightly miscalibrated due to major parts swappage.
Test drive last night after a subframe swap, he pushed the shifter forward
slightly while I was driving, and attempting to engage cruise.
Bingo.
Solution is to remove cover and shift handle for shifter, engage drive, and
check for continuity at terminals at rear of switch. Loosen switch and
adjust as required.
If the slotted holes don't provide enough adjustment *ahem* then cable must
be shifted slightly. Remove outer console cover, shift into L1, and snake a
13mm wrench onto the cable securing nut. Loosen slightly (you'll only be
able to move it one or two flats at a time) and then tap the cable slightly
(4mm forward in my case) and then tighten up things again.
A little spray grease on pivots and you're done.
