... the thing that cracks me up the most is that the way the archives are
set up, posts like this one actually create archive entries in the future!

The fact that we have listers in various time zones around the globe causes
a less obvious manifestation of this effect.  While the list was down I
tried to whittle down the 3000 unread messages in my inbox ... and was
mystified why on a fairly regular basis I would come upon a response to a
message I didn't remember seeing ... well, it was down farther in the list
becuase it was sent "after" the response because of the time zone
differences ... 

..........

I must say that it is great to see the list is back up again!  Thanks to
Dan for getting the list back up one way or another!
