Glad the list is back, even in it's temporary form. Thanks, Dan for all
of your efforts!
Anyway, to add to Richard's comments, I just drove my friend's new Honda
CR-V. It's nicely put together, with lots of cute features, and I'm glad
my friend is happy with it. But, man, even something that small and car
based is soooo tippy compared to even my stock 4KQ was or my 200Q is (and
IMHO, they both roll a LOT). It definitely wasn't FUN to drive,
competent, not fun. You can definitely reach near the car's limits
(7/10ths) without even alerting your passenger (the new owner) 'cuz it's
limits aren't too high. And, realizing that my friend was coming from an
'87 Yotota Corolla slushbox, she thinks the thing has power (it's got the
2.0 liter), I think the thing's a slug (okay, it's adequate with the
slushbox, but barely). This car (trucklet?) defies the general comment
that says, "it's more fun to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow".
Heck, I had more fun pushing the Isuzu Turbo Diesel Cube Van that I used
to move recently than I had in the CR-V. And compared to my Audi's and
VWs (even the old, now dead '78 Rabbit Champagne Edition slushbox), it
doesn't even come close! (my friend was also considering a Civic. I think
she should've gotten it instead)
