ETKA... huh?

Look in the V Pages (could be the M Pages I cant remember without looking)
section of the ETKA and near the beginning they explain their shorthand
version of the VIN. They also explain what >> and << mean.
It seems I need to load the Family Album on my work PC so I can verify these
things in a timely manner.

Subject: ETKA... huh?

I just sto-- borrowed a big honkin' monitor from my esteemed
employer, so I could see the ETKA screen.

Just as an exercise, I tried to find the part number of the
timing belt for my '98 A4. No such luck. First off, after
selecting 'A4', I'm presented with a choice of two numbers, which
purport to be VIN ranges. Neither one looks like a VIN however:

            >>8D-W-007 799* and
            8D-W-007 800*>>

How do I interpret these?

...moving on, once you select a drawing, how to you back up a
page? The back arrow take you all the way out to the splash
screen.

thanks!
