O2 Sensor Out - Threads Gone - Can I drive?

The subject line pretty much sums up the situation. Using an 18" length
of pipe on the end of my box wrench, I got enough torque to remove the old
O2 sensor and completely strip the threads off. (Actually, I'm just glad
the bugger finally came off.)
Question: Should I have the car towed to the shop? If the only harm in
driving will be a loud car and the windows rolled down to stay conscious,
then I prefer to drive. The "only" thing wrong is the nickel sized hole
in the exhaust about 3/4" in front of the CAT & the lack of an O2 sensor.
The drive to the shop is about 4-5 miles of city street driving.
Thanks in advance,
