Around six Sports were built from parts much later than the original
production run. They're regarded as genuine Sport quattros.
In a sense, they're still being built. An S1 was recently built at
Historic Motorsport, largely from original parts.

The Sport was not as great a success in its day as the original Quattro.
Some of the original drivers are on record as saying that Audi missed
the ideal combination - the A2 with the S1's engine. They hated the
S1's handling. I know at least one car has run in this configuration
fairly recently.
