89 200q MC2: code 2322

My newly purchased 200q (274k miles) is running like a$$. Crappy
performance, crappy mileage, just plain crappy. It got new plugs (W7DTC),
cap, rotor, air and fuel filters, injector/inserts/seal, throttle switch
this weekend. Plug wires look near new. Mixture was adjusted down to a
duty cycle around 48% or so. It ran mediocre prior to the new part
installation, worse afterwards. It has a lope/stumble at idle (~950rpm) and
the roll into throttle response is horrible. Sputters and lags badly. It
will build 1.3bar indicated, but does so slowly, and is not wont to climb
to/above 5000 rpm. After a code dumping prep run, I get a 2322 for Air
Intake Temp sensor.

The intake air sensor checks out at ~500ohms at the sensor, and ~545 from
pins 23 & 24 at the brain (if I recall the pinout correctly). On leg of the
wiring, brain to sensor shows approx 0 ohms. The other leg has the extra
resistance near to the sensor.

Testing fuel pressures showed control pressures are a little high. I
swapped four different CPR in and out, and the best CPR gave readings
similar to below. Prior to swapping, control pressures were ~59 and 89
respectively for cold/warm.
System pressure: 95psi
Cold Control Pressure: 30psi
Warm Control Pressure: 59psi

So my questions are:
What is the preferred fix for the Air Intake Sensor? Cut back an inch or
two on the harness, clean/prep the sensor contact pins and solder the fresh
wire ends to the sensor? Grind off the welded connection at the sensor and
use small female crimp terminals to attach the fresh wire ends to the
sensor? Just rework the one questionable wire?? Suggestions?

What should I be looking at to correct the stumbling performance problem?
I'm looking to source other control pressure regulators, in hopes that one
might provide in spec control pressures. I'll plan on an Oxy sensor and new
wires next weekend or so.

Any insights or repair suggestions greatly appreciated. This car could
begin to grow on me, but not in it's current running state. Help please.

Thanks!
