What do I look for on a 5000CS quattro?

There are? Not counting the 1991 200tq and V8, which are after all type
44s, what pray tell?
Having owned 5kcstqs in both flavors, sedan and avant, I find that for a
wagon the Ovlov "mommiewagon" is actually a better wagon in that I can
haul more crap in or on top of it, seat 7, and let the kids thrash it
without as much concern as I would have if they thrashed "my car" ;-)
Much as I love the Avant, I don't follow the logic of dismissing a 5ktq
sedan if you like the Avant. The trunk in a 5k is huge and can carry
pretty much as much as I ever got in the back of the Avant. (OTOH, I
have hauled a super-capacity clothes dryer in the back of the
Ovlov...that thing is huge inside.)
I'm still trying to think of what AWD sedan for ~$10k or less that is of
decent size can even close to compare with a 5000CStq as far as
driveability, performance, and all that. Maybe I missed a chapter?
