Ice racing in general

I think the organizers here look for about 12 inches of ice before regarding
the surface as safe. That's the depth we had Sunday. Elsewhere in the area
(southern Wisconsin) police were warning people to use caution when
venturing onto lake ice over the weekend.

You might want to look over the web site belonging to the organizers of our
local event: www.w-a-g.org You can contact some of the folks listed on the
site, and perhaps they could offer some pointers.

Good luck,
Russ
