Fading Brakes when wet What are the Options

I used to drive in Florida's "Frog Strangler" thunder storms a lot.
Several inches of rain per hour. And before I had all the features I
love in my Audi.
In those bad old days, we were taught to "wipe" the water off our brakes
with a light pedal pressure every so often. Or if we needed to stop quick
pump them a couple times to get the water off before getting down to
serious braking.
Seems that might be what is happening when she pumps the brakes and then
they work better?

Not a high tech, super mechanic solution, but it has been borne out by
years of driving in heavy rain.

hth,
Craig
