Actually, all 4kq's have a 4.11:1 final drive. The "grunt" of an 84 and the
longer legs of the 85-87 4kq's lies solely in the difference in transmission
gearing. If anyone was so inclined, they could swap the rear differentials
between an 84 and an 87 4kq, without any problems.
Hope this clears up some confusion.

4.11. Also the 5th gear ratios are different. The 4kq is like
.79 or something. The 5tq is .73 I believe with the 5kq closer
to the 4kq. Also, larger tires on the 5k cars help as well. >>
The later 4000CSQ had 3.89 final drive. Only the early 4KQ's and the GT's
had the 4.11's. At least, as far as I know.
Later!
