Still 5KTQ No Start

I'd check all involved systems. It could be electrical, so check all the
cables from the batt. to starter and make sure that batt. cable crimp in
the passenger side is not corroded. The Bentley covers how to check the
starter, could be worn brushes. Also fuel system is very likely. The
cold-start valve could be leaking. You can pull the valve off and turn on
the ignition to check. The mixture might just be slightly off. You can
adjust it w/ a 3mm allen wrench and something to monitor the mixture w/
like a dwell meter. It would be good to monitor duty cycle readings off the
CIS freq. valve to see if the ECU is detecting a rich or lean mixture or
whatever. You should monitor it from startup to hot engine condition. And
monitor again when you have a hot-start problem.

Check for low control pressure when the warm-up regulator and engine is
hot. Also, the warm-up regulator should have a resistance of 17-21 ohms and
there should be 12V at its wiring harness. Low residual pressure could
indicate a problem w/ some leaky component, like freq. valve, etc. Vac.
leaks cause problems, but usually cause lean running, so if you suspect too
rich of a mixture, cuz of fuel smell, this might not be it. Even the fuel
distributor could be suspect. CIS can be a little difficult especially on a
Turbo engine b/c of all the components. The Bosch book by Probst is really
good at troubleshooting and theory. good luck.
