Any opinions regarding 1982 5kt automatics?

intercoolers don't do anything for the turbocharger... they cool the
compressed air *after* the TC.  The lack of water cooling and afterrun
circuit, OTOH, can cause problem if you ride it hard and put it away
hot.

Yup, other than the general warnings to replace autobox fluid regularly
and maybe a bit of classic VW/Audi wiring fatigue I can't remember any
chronic issues or weak points.
