Fun in the snow (without power or AWD...)

Hi all,

Just got back from my parents', and it's suddenly started snowing quite
hard. Dropped my brother off at his place and I just couldn't resist a
visit to my favourite empty parking lot for a quick Colin McRae or two.
Now I'm driving this 75 hp FWD 80 with crappy tyres, but when you're
jerking the handbrake and doing a nice 180 the hardware doesn't really seem
to matter... after a few near misses with other cars (jeez, I don't seem to
be the only one with this weird pastime!) I decided to leave the lot (well
and truly ploughed by now) and do my stuff elsewhere. The noisy exhaust on
my car is a bit of a giveaway, I didn't want to have to explain my actions
to the boys in blue.
The 80 seems to be very controllable, no sudden over- or understeer
reactions but lots of potential fro fun. Judging by the movements of the
other cars in the lot, either the drivers haven't a clue or the cars do all
kinds of weird things. I saw this '83 Escort almost tip over after a stupid
manoeuvre, but which IMO would've been more controllable in my car. And
there was this '92 Fiat Croma which just ploughed straight on, no matter
what the driver did.

This would've been so great in my 90q on winter tyres...

Tom
