Sorry, but I beg to differ!

The sport of road rallies is almost as old as the car itself, with the first
organized rally being held in, I think it was, 1896. The first awd rally car was
a dutch job, the Spyker (or Spijker) and it appeared in - get this - 1904! I dont
know anything much about the success of this car, but it shows that the concept
of awd in motorsports is nothing new.

The fact that Audi was the first company to find the correct awd recipe for
success, I agree with.
