I don't know whether the original poster was using M1 or not. Amsoil claims
that you can go the lengths that he goes between changes. The cost for
Amsoil is about 2 or 3x the cost of M1, and must be bought mail order (that
I know of).

As for the filter, OEM filters for my car are 30km filters (18k miles). Audi
recommends 10k mile intervals on dino oil. I don't think 25k is outside the
realm, especially on high mileage, highway driven cars.
