Speaking of breaking news of the future of the automobile, a trade
magazine arrived today with an article about EXTERNAL airbags in the
works at Ford. Pedestrians merging with the bumper, hood, and windshield
will be protected by bumper and cowl mounted airbags, deployed by
"pre-crash sensors". Another band aid on the hemorrhage of personal
responsibility.
