Sounds like you need a bleed. Also, this is a vacuum boosted car, so no
relation to steering (hydraulic boost, don't recall the fluid, check
owner's manual). One neat thing in these older cars, pump the brake pedal
furiously enough with the car at idle, and the idle goes up!
