30,000 mile oil (the new urban legend)

Interesting how we (minority I pray) as a car maintaining community are so
interested in cutting corners on one of the most important fluids squishing
around the motor.  Come to think of it, it would be a lot cheaper if we all
ran straight water in the radiator.  Could be a -little- expensive and
trouble prone in the colder climates tho.  Could really save on tire cost if
we ran 'em till the belts were sparkin' as well.

What's next, lifetime timing belt's, or better yet a lifetime alt. belt for
the type 44.

If the oil is killing your budget that much, an Audi is not the ride for you
considering their inherit cost of upkeep.
