No Audi Content...Any IT Managers out there?

Hello all,
Please excuse the (rant) thread. I'm wrestling with a work problem on par with many of the PITA Audi projects many of us are intimately familiar with. Has anyone had to try to explain to senior management why; a traveling sales force utilizing 700+MHz laptops with plenty of RAM, on NT 4.0, SP6a, with the same ISP (UUNet) from varying domestic locations (and various telco's) cannot expect to synchronize Outlook 2000 with multi-meg changes on their way out of hotel rooms 10 minutes before they're supposed to be at a meeting? I've optimized our server, as well as exchange 5.5 (latest service pack), and tweaked the firewall. I'm about ready to go ballistic here. Metaframe is not an option as they have to have access to synchronized .ost's, and simply "seeing" their e-mail won't cut it. To compound the situation, the VP of sales is a really disorganized type A personality who adamantly refuses to discuss or accept user training for Outlook as an option (and who has already managed to damage our contact management database). I'd like to work with this person, but they refuse to believe that downloading an 8-10MB PowerPoint presentation on a 19.2K connection in East Overshoe should take more than a few minutes (and routinely forgets to release their ipconfig once they leave the LAN). I think we're headed for a blowout. Thanks for your ears.
Regards,
George
