Glen, Ameer, listers:

Here are the differences that I've found between the early 5ktq
caliper (Girling G54) and the later one (Girling G60):

Calipers are different (obviously)
Rotors
Brake hoses
Pads

The mounting brackets most definitely are the same- I have an early
5ktq and the G60s were a simple bolt-on affair. If the brackets were not
the same, I'd have to have an adapter like what BIRA offers for Porsche
brakes.

I don't know what you're referring to as the "spindle" so I won't comment
on that.

After recently replacing my Ate Powerdiscs for a 3rd set in 9 mo. (!),
I also replaced my MC with the Avant MC and had the system pressure-bled.
Now I have really firm pedal feel with great braking. We'll see how long
this set of Powerdiscs lasts. I've had a lot of warping problems with
them so far. I didn't think I was that hard on brakes! No problems with
hub runout, calipers working properly and the car is not put on the track
or autox.
