I have a '95 A6Q Avant, 4-speed auto (which is what they had
those years, the 5-speed started in '97). So far, at 88K on
the clock, it's been good to me. Besides the usual consumables
it has had basically no repairs, other than to replace a hang
bracket on the tail pipe and a coupld of dashboard lights.

When I bought the car, replacing my old '89 100Q, I was worried
about the robustness of the new V6's. But that seems to have been
an unjustified worry. It's been very solid.

BTW, the car is for sale (see my ad in the marketplace), but
it is not "low miles", and it has a fairly stiff sport suspension
in it, so I doubt it would be a good car for your mother. :-)
