I understand that you found a solution to your problem but I want to add
some
good news.  My '89 200 was having trouble with the 2-3 shift and I
talked to my
mechanic about it and he said that a valve gets stuck and sometimes
causes the
delayed shift as well as slipping.  He dropped the pan, removed the
valve body
and soaked it, then replaced the accumulator piston and the filter and
buttoned
her up.  Worked like magic for $260 Canadian.
