4K longevity

Mine, 804K 2 door, 365K miles before the roof rusted too badly to keep
driving it. 1 valve job and pistons at 65K due to dealer leaving the
intake manifold loose, another at 275k due to worn guides, and it could
have used a motor at 365K. I've got an 83 or 84 GTi out in the lot with
756K on it and it runs well enough to pass smog. More or less the same
motor. Cared for, they go on a long time. HTH, John
