overheard at the dealer today

working at an Audi dealer, I can tell you from firsthand,
prior-to-my-employment experience that they're luckily not all this way.
This is absolutely intolerable activity by a dealer service dept... or any
department for that matter. I had been going to the dealer i now work at for
about 5 years prior to coming on as an Audi Brand Specialist, and I drive
about 35 miles to get there, 34 miles past my local "dealership", and I use
that term loosely, because of similar "experiences" there.

I too now do all my own work on my coupe, but since the A4 is still
warranteed, I do take it there ( to the dealership I now work at) for service
and any issues that arise (not many mind you). I have full faith in the Audi
Technician where I work. He's top notch. I guess we here in the Piedmont of
NC are just lucky.

his car won't be ready till next week. That way, we will have enough
time to diagnose the real problem." So, the underling says, "I can't
just lie to the guy, you guys always make me do that, and I am sick of
it." Service manager: "You have to lie to him, you have to create
yourself a way out." Underling: "Ok fine, I'll do it" Me: " Boy am I
glad I don't ever take my car to you guys to fix."
 They just laughed.

Pretty sad, if you ask me. All of this was said at a yell in the
lobby of the Mercedes Benz/Audi service department.

This is why I do all of my own work.
