5 cyl interference

Unless you get a small rock inside the metal cover and tear up the belt - it 
happened to me on a new 81 VW diesel, just after the warrantee expired.  On 
every car I have owned since that experience, I have removed the cover so I 
can look at the belt every time I open the hood
