Before the list and other listers get uptight over this, I did clear this
with Dan. We are not going to be spamming, etc. We just wanted to make a 1
time announcement to let people know there is another option for Audi
performance stuff. Please feel free to contact us OFF the list if you have
other questions.
Thanks for allowing us the space to post Dan.

QRS Motorsport Announces Formation

AUSTIN, Texas, January 31, 2001 – Quattro Rocket Science, LLC (dba QRS
Motorsport), a privately held company, today announced its formation as a
performance tuner of Audi and Volkswagen automobiles. QRS Motorsport (QRS)
is owned and operated by Rob Andrews, Eric Fluhr, and Jimmy Pribble.
QRS is an official distributor for Audi Performance and Racing, LLC (APR),
an acknowledged leader in the VW/Audi performance tuning market. “We are
very excited about our association with APR,” said Jimmy Pribble, Partner,
QRS Motorsport, “They are currently developing the most innovative and high
quality performance parts for the current Audi models. I am also excited
about our own (planned) product line sometime in the future. Our
relationship with APR provides additional resources with which do develop
our own complimentary performance components. We are looking forward to
cooperation between QRS and APR engineers on future projects.”
To address the performance of the 2.8 30V cars, QRS has become an official
distributor and installer of the Performance Engineered Systems (PES) G2
Supercharger.
QRS has also partnered with the Braking Improvement Research Association
(BIRA) on a special arrangement, which would allow QRS to sell complete
brake kits incorporating BIRA technology. This arrangement will allow
consumers to forego the cost and contractual obligations involved in the
mandatory membership into BIRA, which previously, was the only way to obtain
BIRA technology. QRS will also be involved in the testing of future BIRA
designs. “These gents have a wide breadth of quattro experience and they
will be a great addition to our group and to the Audi enthusiast world in
general,” said Greg Johnson of BIRA, in a press release to BIRA members.
QRS is located in Central Texas, an area not known for Audi resources or
support, especially for the enthusiast. QRS Motorsport intends to fill that
vacuum by providing “local” service to the Texas market and to those in the
Southwest, as well as providing products to other parts of the country via
regular Internet and mail order channels.
