override 15mph diff-lock-off?

Well, lots of snow in SW Colo has had me busting down
my short dirt rd, the diff lock is sometimes required.
Vehicle is an '89 200 avant. Anyway, I find the
"safety" feature most annoying, I want the diff to
stay locked until I say otherwise. Can I eliminate
this? I can easily obtain 15mph in wheelspin alone
while standing still.
Sorry if this has been discussed lately, I've seen
similar topics but not this one exactly. Been trying
to keep up w/list mail but volume is high.
The 4kq's don't do this, do they? I think I know
why Audi did it on my '89 - it was marketed as a
luxury car to a market who wants to know nothing of
their car, they just want it to work and think for
them (all q-listers are of course exempt from said
stereotype :-)).
Much thanx,
Keith L.
