Will do. Thanks a lot Clint! Either of those would make a lot of sense.
The air boot could be very likely, as it was a bit old, so when she stalled
it, it may have backfired or sent air back into that boot, popping it off or
ripping it. It wasn't really apparent, but I wasn't looking very closely at
it.

check the air intake boot, make sure it is still in place. look for the two
ground wires on intake, between intake manifold and fuel dist. they are the
main computer grounds, and if they broke, car will all sorts of strange
problems.
