I thought the test around here used 2500 rpm as a "driving"
setup, but it turns out to be 30mph, which makes sense.
But 2500 rpm? For my old 5k with auto trans, it would make sense, too,
but for e.g. my Olds Custom Cruiser, it really wouldn't -
2500 rpm means medium acceleration in any gear for it, reaching
over 100mph before too long. In other words, if they put
it on a rolling test stand and watched the rpm display to keep
at 2500 rpm, they'd reach the speed cutoff (108 mph) quite
soon; if they left it in neutral, they'd have time to measure,
but it would be equivalent to measuring the 5kS at 4500 rpm -
no fair, I'd say.
How does this actually work?
