Chiming in...

I too thought it was a bit of an overreaction.  When I read it, the first
thought I
had was to wonder if it was a fact or an assumption that the owner was a
woman.
I guess we know now...

"This was driven by a women, curb marks on all wheels."

This seems to me to be more a statement of fact than an 
assumption.  Aside from the misuse of the plural, it seems
pretty clear to me.
