My windshield wiper switch has just turned itself into a smouldering mess.

I've heard of the headlight switch frying, but the wiper switch?

Had the ignition on with the engine off to run some output tests and
suddenly the smell of melting pastic starts to fill the car. Quickly turning
off the car I find that the wipers only work at high speed and even then
will not stop in the rest position. Switch off - wipers stop - wherever.

Anyone have a spare wiper switch lying around? Someone who maybe had the
light side fry and bought a new set want to sell me the right half of the
old one?
