Exhaust Options

Hello

i am need of replacing the centre section/box on my '85 Coupe Q, i was
thinking of just replacing the whole section with a section of pipe thus
deleting the centre box. I was wondering if this will affect the
performance, i.e gain anything or will i lose due to lack of pressure????
Any advice welcome please. There is no cat on the car as it's a UK car.
