normal wear in MC block ?

Hi gang,

My turbo project is crawling along but I'm making
progress.

Recently I took the head off the MC-1 for
refurbishment at the machinists and this gave me the
opportunity to inspect the top of the block. There was
one item I found that was a little disconcerting.

The cylinder wall (sleeve) in cylinder #4 is really
worn in the region between #4 and #3. It is only about
1 mm thick, about half the thickness of many other
cylinder sleeves. The area between #3 and #2 is
similar. I realize this is the area with the highest
heat concentration where one would expect more wear
but does this sound right for a turbo motor with 140K
miles on it ?? Any opinions as to if this motor has
another 100K miles of life left in it ?

The Bently manual calls for measuring the "out of
round" of each cylinder at three depth locations but I
don't have the proper tools to do this accurately.

Thanks for any opinions.
