well, the short block i found in a scrapyard can be mine for £50 which im
happy about, the only problem is i dont know if its 2226 or 2309cc, can
anyone tell me the bore sizes?
after phoning around for a head im looking at £100 or there abouts for the
head, camshaft, valves and manifolds. but i was told there maybe
complications fitting it to any other block other than the 2309, any further
info? also the only difference between the heads (nf/ng) is an additional
vacuum point (on the manifold i guess). so if all goes well i'll buy the
short block this month, strip and rebuild, also cut the front out of the
coupe and refit with brackets, any information on this would be very useful.
next month ill buy the head and manifold(s), gas flow and polish to the best
of my abilities, and hopefully the following month fit the new engine. Huw,
waht where you saying about injector lines? can i use the ng/nf fuel lines
and injectors and fit that to the cis fuel distributor? if not ym other
option is to make some bosses and fit them to my current manifold, hopefully
in the bend at the bottom. i dont want to refit the car with electronic
controlled stuff as that, imho, is far too much work for no real gains, i
dont think the problem with detonation isnt so bad here because we get good
octane fuel. also whos lightened there flywheel? where did you remove the
material from and did it require re-balancing? thanx for all the answers
