5/8" will work I think.  let me go check... yah, 5/8" (16 mm) would be
an easy slide on but snug fit.  9/16" would be a tight push-on fit (a
9/16 wrench will go around the main nipple but not the enlarged ring
around it).

This is the larger diameter inlet FP like on an 87.5 coupe or my 89 90Q,
both NG engined, as I suspect yours is.

I would think so.  It always looked to me like Audi used whatever scrap
they had lying around.  It is not a pressure hose, just a gravity feed
to keep the system supplied.
