97 A4 1.8tq problem

Anybody had this happen?

It started yesterday.

On start up I drove my car(97 A4 1.8tq) and the engine light tripped briefly 
less than a second. The car stumbled at that time. It has happened everytime 
the car has be run since. One time it happened several times and the oil 
display came up briefly with it.
Car has 81K on the odometer. APR chip and exhaust. No prior engine ailments 
in my ownership of the car(since 49k). 

Barrowed an OBD II scanner at work the generic scan showed now engine faults.

Have a six hour drive ahead of me this weekend. Makes me nervous.

Any ideas?
