Your conclusions are correct.  There is no approved method of adapting a
York to 134.  I have a 4000 system with a Sanden but I never seen any
documentation for this fitting.

One of the Q-listers sent me the Audi Technical document on the 134
conversion process for the Nippondenso and the Zexel compressors for the
5000 which I can let you have if you have the band width.

Let me know what you find out about the Quantum, that should be the answer
to the problem.
