Might still be due to worn bushings. Just because they put in a short-shift 
kit doesn't mean they took the time to also replace the worn bushings 
(those bushings were only good for about 75k mi on my GTI, ended up 
replacing them twice while I owned it). Most of the bushings that wear are 
not part of a short-shift kit.
