2 pc Manifold question

I rec'd my two piece manifold and had a question for other users.
There is a boss in the # 2/3 runner that is plugged with a removeable bolt.  
Is this suitable for an 02 sensor or does it have to be in the exhaust 
stream of all cylinders further downstream?
