Shifter boot assembly

I plugged in Agla.com & got a life insurance company?
FWIW the problem with the boot for me, is the PLASTIC retainer
with the little tabs.
Someone out to fabricate a METAL one, or of heavier guage
material of some kind that doesn't allow forcing, so that either
our infamous monkey lad, mechanics
( forgive me but that's who busted mine)
or even we monkey lad wanna be's can't bust it and will have
to resort to ASKING someone in the know; how to? first.
I did manage to fix my retainer/frame with epoxy and a dremmel,
about 2 months ago and it's already gone again, the epoxy just
wasn't strong enough to bind or weld the cracks/jionts together
and I guess flexing did it in. I have been wondering about just
snipping and bending an experimental version out of aluminum
sheet and if I succeed I'll share the pattern.
That still leaves the problem of the leather, I know
I happen to be able to sew, I learned from patching my jeans in
the Hendrix eraand did a reasonable job on a new cover out of vinyl,
but got a little ambitious trying to make it Pleated like the rubber
moulded jobs because my original one always harbored coffee
and etc., nasty like a little reservoir, any way it embarrasses me now
because the pleats won't stay and looks like a sloppy vinyl cloud.
So I'd be real interested in that link to Alan Gunn again?

Still waiting for a source for WHITE faces for my odometer and
spedometer,
before I can close up the instrument cluster and get back on the road
in
my own car, won't my lady be happy.......;-)
