If you wished it was a TR4 (if it's that, why not a TR4a?), why would you
be knocking the reliability of the GTi?? Anyway, I know little about the
A3 and A4 series of VWs, sorry. I'd say, if the '97 is in the same price
range as the GTi, I'd go with the Jetta, it's newness will most likely
make it more reliable, and GTi is really pretty good in that department
anyway! Or, either the GTi is overpriced, or the Jetta is underpriced,
which at least would make me a little cautious. Definitely should be
checked over.
