Is this the I-5?  Usually when mechanics don't get the
whole o-ring deal they use silicone.  Lot's of it. 
And it leaks.  I was talking about bearing/bushing
failure causing the front seal to leak.  This becomes
catastrophic in a hurry.  A weeping front seal OTOH
can dribble for years.  If it's truly "leaking"
obviously something is wrong.
