OK, this is the last call for any interested in a rear stabilizer
bracket / adapter kit which allows fitment of the Audi rear
stabilizer as used on the 1992 UrS4 and latter (1993 model years etc.
on) Avant wagons, to 1993 on Audi UrS4/6 sedans.
The kit consists of two (2) adapter plates, two small lock "keys" (2)
and a set of four (4) bolts used to bolt the two bushings up to the
plate. To do the work, the machine shop has asked that I place a
minimum order of at least five (5) kits. Costs for a kit $185 plus
shipping.
Unless there is enough interest, it does NOT included any of the Audi
rear stabilizer parts, (i.e. the rear stabilizer bar, the rubber
bushings, the bushing clamps, or the two heim joints and the
replacement brake line guards, all of which are, or at lest were
available from Audi last time I checked, and can be sourced directly
from Audi or your favorite Audi parts supplier.
Three kits have been installed & have been running on cars for @ year.
It takes @ 20 to 30 minutes to install the kit and the rear stabilizer
bar.
For those interested in a kit I'd like a $100 deposit to cover the
machine shop costs and materials. The balance will be do when the
kits are completed before they ship. The kits still have to be made.
My guess is they should be available within 3 to 4 weeks of placing
the order with the machinist, depending on his health. I won't put in
the order until I have the minimum of five kits.
For personal reasons, the machinist may not be available to do future
kits, so if you've thought about adding some of the 1992 suspension
pieces to your 1993 and latter car this may be the time to do it etc.
Speculation has it that the UrS4/6 and older 1991 200TQ rear
suspension set up are the same. If they are the adapter would
probably also fit the earlier car - but I have not BTDT with a 100/200
chassis.
If you want a photo of the kit as installed on a car, email me. We've
had three "test" kits made up and running on 3 cars for @ a year now.
