OK, I've tried tightening the crank centre bolt from 150Nm to see how far it
can be turned before the torque wrench trips @450Nm.
Its less than 180 degrees, more like 120.
Test engine was a 1981 WR.
Loosened centre bolt then set it at 150Nm, checked setting with a second
wrench.
Set torque wrench to 450Nm and turned until it tripped.
Repeated test, both times the wrench tripped at approximately the same
point, well short of 180.
Only got one wrench that goes about 200Nm so couldn't check the 450Nm.
Wrench is 4 years old and some 6 months since calibration check, only been
used half a dozen times since then.
I don't know what effect the Audi recommended anti-seize or whatever would
have on this but I wouldn't think that it would add too much although I
could be wrong.
